I have a Golden Retriever/Lab mix named Rusty, 2 cats one named “fat cat” and the other “midnight” he is all black.

What do I teach?

I teach 8th grade U.S. History & P.E.

What sport do I coach?

Football @HHS; I am also starting back this year to umpire High school baseball as well as at our local park.

How many students are there in my class?

I teach over one hundred 8th graders.

What are my
favorite subjects?

I think history, of course, is one of our most fascinating subjects, however, all subjects have something to offer us. If we are not learning then we are dying, someone famous said that I think.

What sports do I like?

I like all sports. Particularly for the competition. But I think God gave us football to make young boys into men

I have been teaching now for 10 years. All of which have been here in Lauderdale County. I taught 3 years at Ripley High School before beginning my tenure here at HJHS, where I have been since. I went to school here at Halls and actually had English in the classroom in which I teach NOW! I played football here at HJHS for Coach Climer! I played football and baseball at HHS, during the late ‘80’s. I went on to the University of Tennessee @ Martin, Dyersburg State, and finally graduated from Union University with a bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Political Science.

I am very proud to be the sponsor/coach of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at our school. We meet during our activity schedule two times a month.
